Ripon police are investigating a burglary and an attempted burglary at two restaurants in Ripon. According to police, during the early morning hours of April 21st, suspects were observed through video surveillance breaking windows at two unnamed restaurants on the west end of town. Entry was made into one of the businesses and unidentified items were stolen. Police remind individuals to make sure businesses are secured over night and to be mindful of the amount of cash that is left overnight. Anyone with information about the crimes is asked to call the Ripon Police Department at 748-2888.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
