A woman escaped a fire that damaged her home in Beaver Dam by jumping from a second story window. Firefighters were called to the scene at 115 Chatham Street in the City of Beaver Dam shortly after 4am Wednesday to find the first floor of the home fully involved in fire. A woman and lone occupant of the house escaped the fire by jumping from the second floor balcony. The fire was quickly extinguished. Beaver Dam Firefighters were assisted on scene by Horicon and Juneau Fire departments. Watertown EMS and Hustisford Fire covered the City. The cause of the fire is under routine investigation Beaver Dam Police Department. The home was gutted by the fire and the contents are a total loss. However it is expected that the structure of the house is repairable.
