Celebrate Marian University weekend continues Saturday. The celebration started Thursday with a 24 hour day of giving and continues Saturday with several events open to the public. Marian’s annual Splatter Run will begin at the Regina parking lot with registration at 8:00 a.m. Saturday, and the race will begin at 8:30 a.m. Registration is $10. A taco food truck will begin serving at 11am. Other events include 3 on 3 Basketball, alumni soccer games, a big band concert at 5:30pm and Jazz concert at 8pm at the Hornung Student Center.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
