A Columbus couple was injured in a two vehicle crash in Dodge County. Hans and Mary Kubik, both 68 years old, were transported to the hospital following the crash on Highway 151 just south of County Highway DE in the town of Calamus. The crash happened shortly before midnight Friday. The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office says a semi tractor and pickup were southbound on 151 when the semi struck the rear of the pickup. The pickup entered the ditch and rolled over. The driver and passenger were injured. The semi driver was not injured.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
