MILWAUKEE (AP) — A man accused of striking and killing a 5-year-old girl on a Milwaukee street and then driving off has been sentenced to 12 years in prison. Dodge County Circuit Judge Martin DeVries has been elected. Devries defeated Beaver Dam attorney, Randy Doyle, in Tuesday’s election for the Branch 2 seat. Devries received 7.987 votes to 4.476 votes for Doyle. DeVries was appointed to the bench last summer by Governor Scott Walker to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of judge John Storck.
