Political observers have mixed review on president Donald Trump’s first 100 days in office. Supporters point to the confirmation of Supreme Court nominee Neil Gorsuch, and surprise military strikes in Syria and Afghanistan. “His missle attack on Syria and the big bomb in Afghanistan, strategically they may not have made that much difference, but they were cathartic for the American people,” retired Ripon College political science professor Marty Farrell told WFDL news. But Farrell says Trump made several promises during the campaign of what he would accomplish in the first 100 days that have not happened including his failed attempt to repeal and replace Obamacare, and a stalled wall along the Mexico border. “Mr. Trump was elected on the basis of some extremely extravagant promises. They’re very hard to deliver on.” Farrrell says Trump’s 42 percent approval rating is the lowest for an incoming president in the history of modern polling. Republican 6th district congressman Glenn Grothman says he thinks Trump has done a good job. “He’s got his Supreme Court appointment through which I think may be the number issue why people voted for him. He’s really gone after some regulations that are hurting business,” Grothman told WFDL news. “I think he’s shown that in picking his cabinet members that he wants the best. He’s not going to get all hung up on political correctness.”
