todayMay 10, 2017

The public is invited to a police memorial ceremony at Hamilton Park to pay tribute to officers who have been killed in the line of duty.  Assistant Fond du Lac police chief Steve Klein says four law enforcement officers have died in the line of duty in the city of Fond du Lac.  Officer William Prinslow was killed in 1898 and officer Nick Klaske was shot and killed in 1961.  More recently, Klein says officer Craig Birkholz was shot and killed six years ago and state patrol trooper Trevor Casper was shot and killed in 2015.  “We would urge all of our citizens to come out and show their support for the law enforcement community,,”  Klein told WFDL news.  The ceremony begins at 1pm Thursday at the police-fire memorial at Hamilton Park on Forest Avenue.
