A Beaver Dam man who robbed a Dodge County bank is going to prison. Dodge County Circuit Court Judge Joseph Sciascia sentenced 38 year old Adam Raney to 27 years in prison and 37 years of extended supervision. Raney was convicted of robbing the Watertown branch of the State Bank of Reeseville on July 11, 2016. Employees told investigators Raney pointed a gun at them and demanded money. According to a criminal complaint Raney then ordered employees to get on the ground and left a backpack telling employees if they moved, a bomb in the backpack would be activated. Raney was arrested the next day in Milwaukee.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
