The Fond du Lac Police and Fire Commission has approved the appointment of James Knowles III to the rank of Assistant Fire Chief of Training and Safety. Fire Chief Pete O’Leary says Knowles is a 20 year veteran of the fire service and was previously serving as a lieutenant and captain. The assistant chief position was created due to a recent retirement. Assistant Chief Knowles will begin his new duties on Monday May, 15th. As a result of this promotion, the commission also approved the appointments of Lt. James Wamser to the rank of captain, Ben Stephany to lieutenant, and Brian Vahsholtz to lieutenant.3-28-25 waupun common council postpones action on pay raises
