5-8-17 governor catches two walleye at state fishing opener

CABLE, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker kicked off the 52st annual Governor's Fishing Opener by catching two walleye. Walker was in Cable on Saturday for the event on Lake Namekagon. Walker says fishing is a time-honored tradition and tourism attraction in Wisconsin that draws hundreds of thousands of anglers from outside the state every year.

Nearly 80 lemonade stands were open for business across Fond du Lac and Dodge counties Saturday as part of Lemonade Day. Nearly 280 students set up shop in Fond du Lac, North Fond du Lac, Oakfield, Lomira, Campbellsport, Eden, Ripon and Waupun. Lemonade Day is a fun, experiential program that teaches kids in 4th through 6th grade how to start, own and operate their very own business: a lemonade stand.
