If Thursday night is any indication the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders may be one of the hottest tickets in Fond du Lac this summer. The Northwoods League Dock Spiders played their home opener in front of hundreds of fans in their newly renovated Herr-Baker Field near the Marian University campus. Association of Commerce president and former Fond du lac city manager Tom Herre was one of nine local dignitaries selected to throw out a first pitch. “Its been a dream of mine ever since I came back to Fond du Lac in 2005 and to see it happen tonight on such a glorious night and see all the kids and so many moving parts that are coming together for the community, I can’t be happier,” Herre told WFDL news. The team is comprised of college players hoping of being drafted by a major league team.
