The cause of a fire that destroyed a barn in Fond du Lac County Thursday remains under investigation. Firefighters were called to the Lawrence and Doro Kutz farm on Woodland Dr. in the Town of Osceola to find the barn engulfed in flames. The barn and its contents are considered a total loss. It is believed that between 12 and 15 cows perished in the fire. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office and the Campbellsport Fire Department were assisted at the scene by fire departments from Eden, St. Cloud, Kewaskum, Oakfield, Lomira, Brownsville, Town of Calumet, Mt. Calvary, Cascade and Greenbush.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
