A new combined Fond du Lac Area Association of Commerce and the Fond du Lac County Economic Development Corporation has a new CEO. Envision Greater Fond du Lac, Inc. has named Cecilia Harry to the post. “Cecilia’s energy and passion for economic and workforce development align extremely well with the needs of this new organization and the people we serve,” AC Board chairman Tom Schneider said. “ Her proven ability to build strong relationships with business leaders makes her a great fit to lead us into the future.” Harry comes to Fond du Lac from Nebraska where she has worked for the Greater Fremont Development Council and the Greater Omaha Economic Development Partnership since 2013. “Cecilia’s experience working in a smaller community that is part of a larger regional geography is extremely relevant to the approach Envision Greater Fond du Lac, Inc. will take,” FCEDC Board chair Jim Eden said. “She understands how to bring communities together to work toward a common goal.”
–Prior to her work in Fremont, Harry worked at the Leavenworth County Development Corporation in Leavenworth, Kansas. She is a social worker by training and spent several years with the Department of Child Services in the State of Indiana prior to finding her way to economic development. Harry earned her certified economic developer designation in 2015. She currently serves on the board of directors of the International Economic Development Council (IEDC), an organization that today has over 5,000 members. Harry will begin her role with Envision Greater Fond du Lac, Inc. on July 17.
