City of Fond du Lac – Weekly Construction Update
The City of Fond du Lac is providing a weekly update on construction projects located within the corporate boundary. Motorists are advised to use caution and remain alert when driving though any work zone.
Seventh Street from South Main Street to South Park Avenue
Schedule:  May 2017 to September 2017
Description:  The project includes reconstruction of the sanitary sewer, water main, storm sewer, street, and lighting.
June 12th to June 16th: The utility contractor is installing water and sanitary laterals between Marr Street and South Park Avenue.
Traffic Impacts: Seventh Street will be closed to through traffic.  It is illegal to drive past a “ROAD CLOSED” sign or to move any construction barricades. Residents, business owners, and customers may access properties past “ROAD CLOSED – LOCAL TRAFFIC ONLY” signs. Parking is not permitted on the street during working hours.
North Military Road from West Follett Street to West Scott Street
Schedule:  May 2017 to September 2017
Description:  The project includes reconstruction of the sanitary sewer, water main, storm sewer, street, and lighting.
June 12th to June 16th: No work this week.
Traffic Impacts: Military Road remains open to traffic.
Fifth Street from South Marr Street to South Park Avenue
Schedule:  May 2017 to September 2017
Description:  The project includes reconstruction of the sanitary sewer, water main, storm sewer, street, and lighting.
June 12th to June 16th: Crews for Alliant Energy continue to install gas main and make service connections between Marr Street and Park Avenue.
Traffic Impacts: Fifth Street remains open to traffic.
Ellis Street from Fourth Street to Eight Street (North Leg)
Schedule:  May 2017 to September 2017
Description:  The project includes reconstruction of the sanitary sewer, water main, storm sewer, street, and lighting.
June 12th to June 16th: The utility contractor is installing sewer and water main. Crews for Alliant Energy continue to install gas main and make service connections.

Brooke Street Bridge Closure
Description: The bridge deck will be milled and overlaid which requires the closure of the bridge to vehicle travel.
June 12th to June 16th: The Brooke Street Bridge between West Rees Street and West Division Street remains closed. The contractor continues to make repairs to the bridge deck.  The pedestrian trail located on the east side of the bridge will remain open.
West Second Street Bridge
Description: The bridge deck will be milled and overlaid which requires the closure of the bridge to vehicle and pedestrian travel.
June 12th to June 16th: The West Second Street Bridge remains closed to allow the contractor continue repairs on the bridge.
West Scott Street Closure
Description: The water utility will be making repairs to a water service on West Scott Street.
June 12th to June 16th:  The closure on West Scott Street between Seymour Street and Hickory Street will begin Monday, June 12th. The westbound lane of West Scott Street between Hickory Street and Seymour Street will be restricted to one lane of traffic and the eastbound lane of traffic will be closed to through traffic. The closure is expected to last four days.    
CTH VV (PIONEER RD) from Hickory Street to Rogersville Road
Schedule: April 2017 thru November 2017
Description: This project will include the reconstruction of CTH VV (Pioneer Road) from Hickory Street to Rogersville Road.  The signalized intersection at Pioneer Road and Military Road will be converted to a roundabout.  Work will include grading, water main, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, base aggregate, concrete pavement, curb and gutter, and sidewalk, traffic signals, signing, pavement marking, lighting and landscaping.
June 12th to June 16th: The contractor will continue grading and placing storm sewer along CTH VV (Pioneer Road) between Military Road and Hickory Street.  The contractor will continue pouring concrete pavement on CTH VV (Pioneer Road) west of Military Road and also on Military Road south of CTH VV (Pioneer Road).  Electrical work will continue on CTH VV (Pioneer Road) west of Military Road.  The contractor also plans to place concrete sidewalk along CTH VV (Pioneer Road) west of Military Road.  Watermain may be placed across Military Road just north of CTH VV (Pioneer Road).
Traffic impacts: CTH VV (Pioneer Road from Hickory Street to Triangle Road and Military Road from the IH 41 off ramps to CTH VV (Pioneer Road) will be closed to thru traffic.  CTH VV (Pioneer Road) will have a signed detour via STH 23 (Johnson Street) to IH 41 to Hickory Street.  There will also be a signed detour for Military Road via IH 41 to Hickory Street.  Detour signage will be installed along IH 41 directing northbound Military Road traffic to the Hickory Street interchange, at which point traffic will follow the signed detour along Hickory Street.  Access through the construction site to Sullivan Drive and Rogersville Road may be limited at times.  Access to businesses will be maintained.  Military Road has one lane in each direction south of CTH VV (Pioneer Road). CTH VV (Pioneer Road) east of Military Road is reduced to one lane in each direction. Drivers should be aware of changing conditions and traffic patterns at the intersection of CTH VV (Pioneer Road) and Military Road.
