A portion of West Scott Street in Fond du Lac will be closed starting Monday. The Fond du Lac Public Works Department says the westbound lane of West Scott Street between Hickory Street and Seymour Street will be restricted to one lane of traffic and the eastbound lane of traffic will be closed to through traffic. The closure will allow the water utility to make repairs to the water service. The closure is expected to last four days.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
