The Wisconsin Supreme Court has publically reprimanded a Fond du lac attorney for not reimbursing clients for unearned fees. In addition to the reprimand the court ordered Philip Shepherd pay restitution and court costs totaling nearly $2000. The court says Shepherd committed ten counts of misconduct. According to a complaint filed with the Office of Lawyer Regulation Shepherd failed to refund fees for unearned legal work in a guardianship case and a farm sale. Shepherd’s law license had previously been suspended by the State Bar of Wisconsin.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
