Seventh Street from South Main Street to South Park Avenue
Schedule: May 2017 to September 2017
Description: The project includes reconstruction of the sanitary sewer, water main, storm sewer, street, and lighting.
July 3rd to July 7th: The utility contractor will continue installing storm sewer on Seventh Street from Marr Street toward S. Park Avenue. Once the storm main is completed in this area storm laterals will be installed. A second utility crew may assist this crew by the end of the week, weather dependent.
Traffic Impacts: Seventh Street will be closed to through traffic. It is illegal to drive past a “ROAD CLOSED” sign or to move any construction barricades. Residents, business owners, and customers may access properties past “ROAD CLOSED – LOCAL TRAFFIC ONLY” signs. Parking is not permitted on the street during working hours.
North Military Road from West Follett Street to West Scott Street
Schedule: May 2017 to September 2017
Description: The project includes reconstruction of the sanitary sewer, water main, storm sewer, street, and lighting.
July 3rd to July 7th: No work this week.
Traffic Impacts: Military Road remains open to traffic.
Fifth Street from South Marr Street to South Park Avenue
Schedule: May 2017 to September 2017
Description: The project includes reconstruction of the sanitary sewer, water main, storm sewer, street, and lighting.
July 3rd to July 7th: Crews for AT&T are scheduled to move the underground telephone to the north edge of the terrace between Ellis Street and S. Park Avenue, north side. Note, sanitary bypass work is scheduled to start the week of July 10th beginning at Marr and Fifth Street.
Traffic Impacts: Fifth Street remains open to traffic until the week of July 10th when work is scheduled to begin.
Ellis Street from Fourth Street to Eight Street (North Leg)
Schedule: May 2017 to September 2017
Description: The project includes reconstruction of the sanitary sewer, water main, storm sewer, street, and lighting.
July 3rd to July 7th: The remaining storm and water laterals will be installed on Ellis Street between Eighth and Sixth Street.
Traffic Impacts: Ellis Street will be closed to through traffic. It is illegal to drive past a “ROAD CLOSED” sign or to move any construction barricades. Residents, business owners, and customers may access properties past “ROAD CLOSED – LOCAL TRAFFIC ONLY” signs. Parking is not permitted on the street during working hours.
Brooke Street Bridge Closure
Description: The bridge deck will be milled and overlaid which requires the closure of the bridge to vehicle travel.
July 3rd to July 7th: The contractor installed the expansion joint seal and treated the cured deck. Cleanup work will be completed and the approaches are scheduled to be paved before July 4th. Weather dependent the bridge could be opened to traffic by the fourth of July.
Traffic Impacts: The Brooke Street Bridge between West Rees Street and West Division Street remains closed but should be open by the end of the week.
West Second Street Bridge
Description: The bridge deck will be milled and overlaid which requires the closure of the bridge to vehicle and pedestrian travel.
July 3rd to July 7th: The West Second Street Bridge railings are being painted and could be completed by weeks end. The bridge patch work is complete and now required a 7 Day cure time before work can begin to reinstall the refurbished railing. Following the cure time of the patch work an additional 14 day minimum is required before the epoxy overlay work can begin.
Traffic Impacts: The West Second Street Bridge remains closed to through traffic.
CTH VV (PIONEER RD) from Hickory Street to Rogersville Road
Schedule: April 2017 thru November 2017
Description: This project will include the reconstruction of CTH VV (Pioneer Road) from Hickory Street to Rogersville Road. The signalized intersection at Pioneer Road and Military Road will be converted to a roundabout. Work will include grading, water main, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, base aggregate, concrete pavement, curb and gutter, and sidewalk, traffic signals, signing, pavement marking, lighting and landscaping.
July 3rd to July 7th: The contractor will continue placing storm sewer along CTH VV (Pioneer Road) between Military Road and Hickory Street. Crews will also continue to place topsoil and landscaping may be started. Concrete sidewalk may be placed along the southbound lanes of Military Road. Underground lighting work will also be done at the intersection of CTH VV and Military Road and also along CTH VV (Pioneer Road)
Traffic impacts: CTH VV (Pioneer Road from Hickory Street to Triangle Road and Military Road from the IH 41 off ramps to CTH VV (Pioneer Road) will be closed to thru traffic. CTH VV (Pioneer Road) will have a signed detour via STH 23 (Johnson Street) to IH 41 to Hickory Street. There will also be a signed detour for Military Road via IH 41 to Hickory Street. Detour signage will be installed along IH 41 directing northbound Military Road traffic to the Hickory Street interchange, at which point traffic will follow the signed detour along Hickory Street. Access through the construction site to Sullivan Drive and Rogersville Road may be limited at times. Access to businesses will be maintained. Military Road has one lane in each direction south of CTH VV (Pioneer Road). CTH VV (Pioneer Road) east of Military Road is reduced to one lane in each direction. Drivers should be aware of changing conditions and traffic patterns at the intersection of CTH VV (Pioneer Road) and Military Road.
