Agnesian HealthCare has announced a series of executive promotions. Katherine Vergos has been promoted to St. Agnes Hospital chief operating and nursing officer. She will be responsible for the daily operations at the Hospital. Holly Brenner will now serve as senior vice president of strategic development and marketing, and president of the Agnesian HealthCare Foundation. Bonnie Schmitz has been named senior vice president and chief financial officer. Schmitz joined Agnesian HealthCare in 1992.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
