A portion of Highway 151 in Dodge County is closed this morning following a fatal traffic crash. The crash happened shortly after 2am on north bound 151 and Gunn Road near Beaver Dam. Sheriff Dale Schmidt says he cannot release further information about the crash at this time other than two vehicles were involved and there was a fatality. Us Highway 151 north bound is completely shut down at this time and is detoured from US Highway 151 to Gunn Road. The sheriff’s office is urging the public to avoid the area till about 9am, as deputies are currently working to clean up the scene.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
