The victims of a serious injury head on collision south of Fond du Lac last week have been identified. The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office says a car driven by 23 year old Kevin Knippel from Merrill, Wisconsin crossed the center line on Highway 45 near Waucousta, striking a northbound vehicle. Knippel and a passenger, Amber Wiedmeyer from Merrill were flown by helicopter to the hospital. The driver of the northbound vehicle, 66 year old Douglass Hodorff from the Eden area was also flown by helicopter to the hospital. The crash remains under investigation.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
