The newly formed charitable group Fondy 100 Gives has selected its first project. At a meeting this week the group voted to give $7500 to Camp To Belong, a summer camp that reunites foster siblings who have been separated in the foster care system. Fond du Lac YMCA director Greg Giles says under the Fondy 100 Gives program, 100 Fond du Lac residents will donate $100 four times a year and will vote every three months on a worthwhile project in the community.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
