“Major Jobs Announcement” Scheduled for 4:00 p.m. Wednesday at White House

todayJuly 26, 2017

Governor Scott Walker and Assembly Speaker Robin Vos are in Washington D.C. today, for what the governor is calling a “major jobs announcement.”
Just after 7:00 this morning, Walker tweeted “Major jobs announcement for Wisconsin today at 4:00 p.m. CST at the White House with @POTUS.”
The tweet is fueling speculation that Wisconsin will be chosen as the site for the first U.S. home of global electronics manufacturing giant Foxconn.
Foxconn, which assembles iPhones and other high-tech items, has been looking at building a factory in the United States for some time, with Wisconsin competing against the likes of Illinois, Indiana, Texas, Michigan, Ohio and Pennsylvania to land the contract.
