OSHKOSH, Wis. (AP) — A seaplane hit a “large wave” and overturned while trying to take off near a huge aviation convention in Wisconsin, killing one person from Minnesota and critically injuring another. A spokesman for the Experimental Aircraft Association says the six-seat Lake Renegade was going about 80 mph when it crashed into Lake Winnebago Thursday night. Authorities say a female passenger died Friday. The crash is under investigation. The weeklong fly-in attracts 550,000 people to Oshkosh.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
