Alcohol appears to be a factor in a one vehicle crash in Fond du lac County that sent three people to the hospital. The crash was reported Saturday afternoon on Prairie road west of Church Street of in the Township of Oakfield. The Sheriff’s Office says a vehicle was traveling east on Prairie road when the driver lost control of the vehicle causing it to enter the south ditch striking a culvert. The driver, a 52-year-old man from Louisiana, was flown by Flight for Life helicopter to Theda Care Medical Center in Neenah. The two passengers were transported by ambulance to Saint Agnes Hospital in Fond du lac.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
