7-12-17 dairy worker training certificate

Graduation ceremonies were held recently fo the first  inmate workers  to complete  the inaugural Dairy Worker Training certificate.  Moraine Park Technical College and the Department of Corrections developed a training program for inmate workers at the DOC’s  Waupun state farm.  The certificate includes training in dairy skills  to help inmates find employment when they get out of prison.  There are 60 inmates  at four DOC dairy farms managing a herd […]

7-12-17 born learning trail at lakeside park

7-11-17 fatal crash shuts down nb 151 near beaver dam

A portion of Highway 151 in Dodge County is closed this morning following a fatal traffic crash.  The crash happened shortly after 2am on north bound  151 and Gunn Road near Beaver Dam.   Sheriff Dale Schmidt says he cannot release further information about the crash at this time other than two vehicles were involved and there was a fatality.  Us Highway 151 north bound is completely shut down at this […]

7-11-17 convicted sex offender released into fdl community

A convicted Fond du lac sex offender is being released from prison.  Fond du Lac Police say Robert Carter is being released from prison after serving 15 years for Second Degree Sexual Assault of a Child and Third Degree Sexual Assault.  Carter was convicted of sexually assaulting 14-year-old and 12-year-old female acquaintances.   Carter will be living at 143 W. MADISON, Wis. 7-11-17 wi abortions down

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The number of abortions performed in Wisconsin has dropped for the seventh straight year.  That's according to the latest annual report on induced abortions released by the Wisconsin Department of Health Services on Monday.  The report shows that there were 5,612 abortions in the state last year compared with 5,660 abortions in 2015. That's a drop of 48 abortions, just less than a 1 percent decline. […]

7-11-17 fdl county clerk concerned about voter info request

The Fond du Lac County Clerk says she is concerned about the Presidential Advisory Commission asking for voter data from states.  The Commission was formed after president Donald Trump falsely claimed that voter fraud cost him the popular vote in last year’s election.  The Commission sent a letter to states last week asking  for about a dozen points of voter data, including birthdates and Social Security numbers.  The state election […]

7-11-17 fdl school lunch prices increasing

The Fond u Lac School Board has approved an increase in school lunch prices.  Superintendent Dr. Jim Sebert says starting next school year the cost for a school lunch will increase ten cents.  The current average meal rate is $2.70.  Sebert says school lunch prices have to increase every year until the average cost equals the free meal reimbursement rate, minus the reimbursement for paid meals.
