7-24-17 victims of fatal dodge county traffic crash identified

7-23-17 governor declares state of emergency in 17 counties

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Gov. Scott Walker has declared a state of emergency in 17 western Wisconsin counties following torrential rains and flooding.  Walker issued the declaration Friday afternoon. His office said in a news release that between 6 and 8 inches of rain fell Wednesday night, causing flash floods and rivers to rise to major flood stage. OSHKOSH, Wis. (AP) — Corrections officials say three security employees are recovering following an attack by an inmate at the state prison in Oshkosh.  The Wisconsin Department of Corrections says the attack happened Thursday evening at the medium-security Oshkosh Correctional Institution.  Injuries to two of the three employees were severe enough that they were taken to the hospital for treatment. MILWAUKEE (AP) — The U.S. Department of Justice says it has settled discrimination claims from two HIV patients who said physicians at a Milwaukee-based medical provider refused to treat them because of their illness.  The settlement announced Friday calls for Aurora Health Care Inc. to pay $30,000 to one patient, $15,000 to the other and a $15,000 civil penalty to the federal government.
