The state patrol is investigating a fatal crash on Interstate 41 south of Fond du Lac. The crash happened shortly after 2pm in the northbound lanes of 41 near County Highway B. Investigators say there was one fatality. Fond du lac Fire Chief Pete O’Leary says it appears a vehicle struck a car that had slowed or stopped for a crash that happened about an hour earlier on southbound I-41 near Highway 151.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
