The Fond du Lac Police Department is hosting their annual National Night Out Tuesday night. The free community event promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie and is designed to make neighborhoods safer, better places to live. National Night Out takes place across thousands of communities from all 50 states, United States territories, Canadian cities, and military bases worldwide. In Fond du Lac the event will take place at the Fond du Lac Fairgrounds Park run from 4:00 pm to 7:00pm. The night features police department vehicle tours and activities, Fire Department vehicle tours and water games, an inflatable obstacle course, mascot race, clowns and over 15 community partners running activities that showcase their organizations. Flight for Life will also be making a landing during the event.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
