An elderly Antigo man was killed and two people were injured in a two vehicle crash on Interstate 41 south of Fond du lac. The crash happened shortly after 2pm Tuesday on northbound 41 near Fond du Lac County Highway B. An 80 year old Antigo man was killed and two Green Bay men received non life-threatening injuries in the crash. Fond du Lac Fire chief Pete O’Leary says the crash happened when a car rear-ended a semi that was slowing due to a traffic back-up from another crash that had occurred earlier on 41 near Highway 151 in Fond du Lac. O’Leary says the crash is a deadly reminder that motorists need to pay attention. About an hour before the fatal crash, Fond du Lac Fire and Rescue responded to a crash that shut down traffic in both directions.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
