A Milwaukee man convicted in the drug overdose death of a Fond du Lac County man is going to prison. At a hearing Tuesday afternoon Fond du Lac judge Gary Sharpe sentenced Stephen Jordan to 10 years in prison followed by six years extended supervision. In May Jordan pleaded guilty to a charge of first degree reckless homicide/delivery of drugs for supplying the heroin that led to the overdose death of an Oakfield man in September of 2015.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
