The Fond du Lac Public Works director says a major road reconstruction project will inconvenience motorists for the rest of the summer. Jordan Skiff says Military Road between Seymour Street and Pioneer Road is closed for the next two months as construction work continues on the Military and Pioneer Road project. “We always knew this part of the Pioneer Road project would be coming. Fortunately to this point we’ve been able to allow traffic to get through the Pioneer Road intersections and now we’re at the point where that just isn’t feasible,” Skiff told WFDL news. The closure prohibits motorists from accessing locations on Military Road south of Seymour Street.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
