Two people are dead after an untralight plane crashed into a river shortly after takeoff in Jefferson County last night.
Officials say the plane tookoff from Fort Atkinson Municipal Airport around 8 o’clock last night.
Shortly thereafter, the plane went down in the Rock River.
Rescue crews had to use boats to try and reach the victims, a 51-year-old man from Edgerton and a 16-year-old boy from Fort Atkinson.
The names of the victims are being withheld pending family notification.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
