Republican U.S. Senator Ron Johnson is not criticizing president Trump for his initial reaction to the domestic terrorism incident in Charlottesville, Virginia last weekend. Trump declared “there is blame on both sides” for the violence last weekend. Senator Johnson said his initial reaction to the hate crime is depressing. But when asked if president Trump should have been more direct in his initial response to the attack, Johnson said the country needs to concentrate on areas of agreement. What unifies us? Our goals of having a safe, prosperous, secure city, state and country. If we focus on those and get everybody to ramp down the emotions, we really need to get everybody to come together as a nation,” Johnson told WFDL news. “I reject anybody that seeks to divide us.”
