A nine year old Waupun boy received minor injuries after he was struck by a car following the Truck N Show celebration last week. Waupun police chief Scott Louden says the incident happened last Friday night in the 900 block of East Main Street. “There’s always concerns for safety because of how much traffic is in our community,” Louden told WFDL news. “The nine year old ended up darting out into traffic in front of somebody making a turn from Main Street onto Gateway Drive. The vehicle did have the right of way.” Louden says it turns out the car driver, a 39 year old Fond du Lac woman, did not have a valid drivers license.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
