Fond du Lac police are investigating the apparent assault of a Fond du Lac man. Troy Haase with Fond du Lac Fire and Rescue says paramedics were initially called to a report of a man seriously injured after falling off a bike. “They didn’t really seem to find a bicycle,” Haase told WFDL news. “It was odd. It came in as a bicycle accident but with no bicycle.” Haase says the victim was flown by helicopter to the hospital with what was described as a traumatic injury.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
