The Department of Public Works says a portion of N Seymour Street will be closed this week. The street between Thomas and Division Streets will be closed completely starting Monday morning and remain closed for the week. The closure will allow the water department to replace a water service line. A signed detour will be marked and motorists are encouraged to travel Thomas Street, Bell Street, and Division Street, as a detour around this block.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
