Two people were seriously injured in a semi versus car crash south of Fond du Lac Monday morning. Sheriff’s captain Ryan Waldschmidt says fog appears to be a factor in the crash at the intersection of Highway 175 and County Highway F. Waldschmidt says a semi traveling east on F went through a stop sign and was hit by a vehicle traveling northbound on 175. Waldschmidt says fog prevented Flight for Life helicopter from responding to the crash scene. Waldschmidt says the semi driver was critically injured and the car driver received serious injuries.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
