The Fond du Lac School Board has approved an Academic and Career Plan for the school district. Superintendent Dr. Jim Sebert says under the plan beginning in 6th grade students create their own vision for their future following high school graduation. “What’s beautiful about it is its not a one size fits all approach,” Sebert told WFDL news. “…as we well know four year college is not for everybody anymore than the Career Construction Academy is for everybody. We have to have areas in which we support kids and get them thinking about what types of careers and or college preparation they need.” Sebert says the plan should recognize that a young student’s goals for post-secondary success can and most likely will change:.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
