Democratic state representative Dana Wachs says he’s running for governor because the average citizen in Wisconsin has been ignored by Republican governor Scott Walker. “I’m a different kind of a Democrat,” Wachs told AM 1170 WFDL’s Between the Lines program. “I’m coming from western Wisconsin, I represent Eau Claire in the legislature. I’m also a hunter and a fisherman as well as a conservationist.” Wachs announced this month that he was entering the race. “I’m running for governor because I think that regular folks need a voice in Madison and right now they don’t have it.” Wachs says the nearly $3 billion tax break bill for Foxconn is a big mistake. “If everything goes just absolutely perfect, beginning around 2043 the taxpayer will start to recoup the $3 billion that’s been put into this business,” Wachs said. “Unfortunately, that will never happen.”
