A semi driver from California was killed and another person was seriously injured in a semi versus car crash south of Fond du Lac Monday morning. Sheriff’s captain Ryan Waldschmidt says fog appears to be a factor in the crash at the intersection of Highway 175 and County Highway F. Waldschmidt says a semi traveling east on F went through a stop sign and was hit by a vehicle traveling northbound on 175. Waldschmidt says fog prevented Flight for Life helicopter from responding to the crash scene. The semi driver was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
