8-30-17 fdl advisory park board to vote on proposal to allow dogs in all city parks

todayAugust 30, 2017

The Fond du Lac Advisory Park Board will vote next month on a recommendation that people be allowed to walk their dogs in all city parks.  Parks director John Redmond says the board will vote on amending the current ordinance to allow dogs on leashes in all city parks including Lakeside and Buttermilk Creek Parks with some exceptions.    Dogs would not be allowed in Lakeside Park when there are festivals.  They would also not be allowed near the petting zoo or childrens play area.   Dogs would not be allowed in Buttermilk Creek Park on Mondays and Wednesday evenings when there are concerts.  The board will  vote at their meeting in September and the recommendation would be forwarded to the city council for final action.
