A Fond du Lac man who set fire to a Fond du Lac bar and bowling alley more than seven years ago won’t be getting out of prison early. Following a hearing Fond du Lac judge Dale English denied a request by 53 year old Lyle Huss to reduce his seven year prison sentence by a year. Huss is scheduled to be released from prison in November of 2018. Police say Huss set fire to the Last Stop Bar and Lanes in March of 2010 to collect the insurance money.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
