WAUSAU, Wis. (AP) — Offers of support are pouring in for a 9-year-old Wausau girl who was allegedly scammed while trying to sell her Pokemon card collection.  Kaitlynn Cooper's mother, Sarah Hesbol, said several people have offered to reimburse her after a man gave her a fake $100 bill in exchange for more than 500 cards.  The family has filed a report with the Wausau Police Department, which is investigating […]

8-20-17 tax reciprocity

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Minnesota is giving up efforts to reach a tax reciprocity agreement with Wisconsin.  The end of negotiations means the state of Wisconsin will give Minnesota residents who cross the border a tax credit to make up for the higher Wisconsin taxes. 8-19-17 fdl woman convicted in heroin case

A Fond du Lac woman who was one of eleven people arrested earlier this year in what was described as a major heroin bust has been convicted.  Jody Wegener  has pleaded guilty to a heroin trafficking charge.  Two other felony bail jumping charges were dismissed and read into the record.  Judge Richard Nuss revoked bail and ordered a pre-sentence investigation.

8-19-17 pickup vs. pedestrian victim identified

The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office has identified the Beaver Dam woman killed when she stopped on Highway 151 to help two motorists involved in a crash and was hit by another vehicle.  Sheriff Dale Schmidt says 37 year old Kayla Davis was struck by a pickup that swerved to avoid hitting her vehicle early Thursday morning on Highway 151 south of Beaver Dam.

8-18-17 state assembly passes foxconn bill

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The Wisconsin state Assembly has passed a $3 billion tax break package for Taiwan-based electronics giant Foxconn Technology Group.  The bipartisan vote Thursday now sends the bill to the Senate, where it must also pass in identical form before it goes to Republican Gov.
