8-11-17 Dodge County Sheriff Investigating Home Burglary

Cash and electronics were stolen from an Elba home during a burglary earlier this week. The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office is now investigating the Tuesday afternoon incident. They say a resident of a home on Poser Road came home to find the front door broken and reported the stolen cash and other items. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Sheriff’s office.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Frack sand companies doing business in Wisconsin are seeing their stock prices fall despite high demand for the sand. Wisconsin Public Radio reports that this year companies focused on developing sand mines in Texas, which has caused the stock price of companies that focused on developing Wisconsin mines to drop. Oil companies use the sand in hydraulic fracture drilling for oil and natural gas.

8-10-17 Jefferson County Sheriff ID’s Dead Man and Boy in Plane Crash

JEFFERSON, Wis. (AP) — Sheriff's officials have identified a man and a teenage boy killed when an ultralight plane crashed into a river in southern Wisconsin. Jefferson County Sheriff Paul Milbrath says the pilot, 51-year-old David Plambeck of Edgerton, and his passenger, 16-year-old Max Burlingame of Fort Atkinson, died when the aircraft went down in the Rock River near Jefferson shortly after taking off from Fort Atkinson Airport Tuesday night. 8-10-17 Sen. Johnson Suggests Tumor Affected McCain Health Care Vote

WASHINGTON (AP) — Wisconsin Sen. Ron Johnson has suggested fellow Republican Sen. John McCain's brain tumor and the after-midnight timing of the vote were factors in McCain's decisive vote against the GOP health care bill. Johnson's comments in a radio interview drew a response from McCain spokeswoman Julie Tarallo. She said, "it is bizarre and deeply unfortunate that Senator Johnson would question the judgment of a colleague and friend."

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald says he doesn't know if he has the votes to pass a $3 billion incentive package for a Foxconn electronics plant. Fitzgerald said Wednesday he's not sure how much support the bill has in the Senate Republican caucus. Fitzgerald added that Assembly Republicans have started working on amendments to the package without any Senate input.
