8-25-17 fdl council rejects townhouse development proposal

The Fond du Lac city council has rejected a proposed townhouse development on the city’s east side.  The special use permit request was denied on a 3-3 tie vote at this week’s council meeting. Developer Joe Ziegler wanted to the build the 28 townhouse units along Ducharme Parkway near the Spring Lakes Estates.  Several residents spoke in opposition at the council meeting.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A legislative panel has approved language in Gov. Scott Walker's budget eliminating the state property tax.  The Joint Finance Committee voted 12-4 Thursday to end the forestry mill tax.
