8-24-17 crash victims names released

A Fond du Lac man was seriously injured in a two vehicle crash in Fond du Lac County.  Sherifff’s Sergeant Ryan Zitlow says the crash between a  garbage truck and mini-van happened early Wednesday morning on Highway D near Highway 151.  Zitlow says the cause of the crash remains under investigation.  Zitlow says a preliminary investigation shows no evidence that the minivan driver hit the brakes before impact.  The driver […]

8-24-17 area unemployment rate down slightly

The unemployment rate is down slightly locally in the latest reporting period.  The unemployment rate in the city of Fond du Lac dropped from 3.4 percent in June to 3.3 percent in July.    In both Fond du Lac and Dodge counties the jobless rate for July stands at three percent, down a tenth of a percent from June.  Statewide the July unemployment rate decreased or remained the same in 67 […]

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Gov. Scott Walker is asking President Donald Trump for a federal disaster declaration for 11 flood-ravaged counties in western Wisconsin.  Walker made the request to Trump on Wednesday. Cindy Sarkady has been selected as the new University of Wisconsin-Extension Area Extension Director for Fond du Lac, Sheboygan, Ozaukee and Washington County.
