A Fond du lac man is going to prison for robbing a man at gunpoint. Fond du Lac judge Peter Grimm sentenced Jacob Soyke to nine years in prison followed by 11 years of extended supervision. Police say Soyke was 17 years old when he went to the victim’s house, pointed a gun at the victim’s head and demanded money.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
