A 15 year old Milwaukee boy is in custody following a carjacking in Fond du Lac and subsequent high speed chase. Assistant police Chief Steve Klein says shortly after 2am Wednesday officers were called to a carjacking incident at Wal-Mart on North Rolling Meadows Drive. Klein says the stolen car was spotted on southbound Interstate 41 and a chase ensued. The 26 mile pursuit ended in Washington County near Hwy 60 after the vehicle crashed near an off ramp. The lone suspect took off running and after a short foot pursuit he was taken into custody without incident. The suspect is a 15 year old boy from Milwaukee. Nobody was hurt in the incident.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
