The Fond du Lac United Way is teaming up with the Dodge County United Way to help feed the hungry. Fond du Lac Area United Way director Amber Kilawee says volunteers will be packaging 50,000 meals for food pantries in Fond du Lac and Dodge counties. Kilawee says the event runs from 9am to 12:30am Saturday at the Union Youth Center in Waupun.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
