todaySeptember 26, 2017

The Fond du Lac School superintendent says an exodus of teachers from the school district is not unique to Fond du Lac.  Figures show that in  the two years after  the passage of Act 10, there were more than 50 teacher retirements and zero teacher resignations.  However, from the 2011-2012 school year to last school year there were 70 retirements and 179 teacher resignations.  “Its a trend throughout the state of Wisconsin,”  Sebert told WFDL news.  Superintendent Dr. Jim Sebert says exit surveys show a variety of reasons for why teachers are leaving.  “We’re told through CESA is roughly ten percent turnover in terms of teachers.  When you look at last year for us, when you combine resignations and retirements,  we come out at about 8.9 percent.”
